Clay versus Concrete Pavers

Either type of paver works well for any patio, walkway, and outdoor living area. Each has strength and each has weakness. Installation is key for lasting beauty and sustainability.

Concrete- has a greater variation of sizes. Rectangles, triangles, squares, circles, or almost any shape you can design. A lot of manufacturers make concrete pavers with the color all the way through. Structurally concrete pavers are better in vehicle traveled areas such as driveways and streets. Colors range from grays, charcoals, reds, and browns. Many different pattern configurations to choose.

Clay- usually comes in one size 4”x8”. Rectangle shape only. Color does not always penetrate the whole way through. Clay pavers often match their brick counterparts with reds, browns, tans, whites, and pinks. Colors are muted compared to concrete pavers. Ideal for walkways, and patios, and outdoor living spaces. Pattern configurations are limited - Herringbones, Basket Weave, or Running Bond.
